Following Disney's first appearance in Kissimmee in 1971, the population doubled and has continued to grow; currently over 39,000 people reside within the corporate limits of the City. The Kissimmee area offers other recreational activities including golf, tennis, fishing, water sports, natural attractions, ecotourism to name a few. Lake Tohopekaliga, or "Lake Toho," is the setting for fishing tournaments, and you can enjoy boat tours along the scenic Kissimmee Chain of Lakes.
